Playing Experience
Mo played soccer in Africa and Europe. At the age of five, he was playing on the streets of Algiers. At 10 he was recruited by the local youth professional soccer club academy, NAHD. He went through intensive programs at the mini, cadet, and junior levels. He was promoted at 18 to the premier starting line up as a forward/Midfielder. After 4 years, he attended soccer camps in France, and played at the summer leagues for semi- pro clubs before joining a division 2 team. The chance to attend a graduate school in the USA brought him to the west coast amateur soccer league, where he played for a few years. In Ohio, he joined the Akron amateur league and led the team to the city championship.
Even though retired from playing with soccer clubs, Mo still plays indoor and outdoor competitively. He has coached every age group including HS kids in the indoor and summer leagues. As time permits, he plans on pursuing his USSF training. |

Philosophy
Coaching youth soccer is about teaching kids how to be successful in all walks of life. As it relates to a team, success cannot be defined by wins and losses. It is much bigger than that, and much smaller than that. On a small scale, success is found in mastering a skill, understanding and applying a concept, or simply living up to your morals and values. On a large scale, success is found at the end of the season by playing better team soccer than at the start. A single game is just one small piece of a big puzzle.

Bio
I began playing soccer at 6 years old. I was a goalkeeper for most of my playing career. I played high school soccer at Brush, graduating in 1995. While working on my undergraduate degree at Kent State I began coaching in the West Geauga System. In 14 years as a coach I have worked with all age groups, from 7-8 year olds with no playing experience to a high school team that won a district championship. The 2010 season will be my 10th as a high school coach, 7 as a JV coach/varsity assistant and 3 as a varsity head coach.

Coaching Philosophy
My roll as a coach is to encourage players to develop their skills in practice and on their own, to see that they are able to play the game at a competitive level, and to motivate them to push towards the next level, while I teach them my understanding of the game. |

I have been playing soccer since 1978. I have played Club soccer from grade school through college and I still play to this day.
I have been a member with Cleveland Select since spring of 2008. I would like to bring my philosophy of the game the Club and assist in the development of the youth program. I believe that good soccer players show discipline on and off the filed, play to win, and play with passion. They need to agree to the fact that they are a team working as a group for one common purpose. If the player accepts their role, they will be a more confident player and learn lessons from the game that will translate to other areas of their lives. |

Coaching Philosophy
To make soccer fun. I believe in training the basics; Pass, Trap, Shoot. Without these basics, upper level skills and tactics are impossible. Technique before Tactics. The trick of it is to make it fun, to instill a love and a passion for the game at a young age so that the "training" and "practice" are fun and the desire to master the fundamentals of the game drive the player to develop their skills outside of scheduled practices. When the players develop the fundamental skills then the focus turns to developing the tactics of the game. I compare it to playing chess vs. checkers. |
